Liang Yan was born in Qingyaun County, Hebei Province in 1943. He is now member of Chinese Artists Association, and a professional painter and first-class artist of Hebei. He was brought up in the village and had worked as a miner. Although his road to success by teaching himself was hard and rough, the painter has blazed a trail of his own through persistent pursuance, his understanding of art and unceasing effort. Liang is good at Chinese ink and wash, figure painting and portrait painting, especially at painting old people and modern ladies. His brush strokes are natural and unrestrained, his skill exquisite, so his works are difficult to paint and have artistic appeal. His unique art of painting has drawn attention both at home and abroad and has produced a great impact.
